People in Rochdale are being urged to take part in a fire walk to raise funds for Pennine Care Charity, with the event set for November 2 from 5pm to 8pm at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust headquarters in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The money raised will support mental health, learning disability, and autism services across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, and Glossop.
How the charity uses the funds
Pennine Care Charity funds projects, activities, and improvements that go beyond NHS funding, aiming to enhance experiences and opportunities for patients, service users, carers, and local people.
In the past, funds have helped create a sensory room at Birch Hill Hospital and funded trips to an alpaca farm for people living with dementia and their carers.
What to expect on the day
Charity director Wes Partington said: "The fire walk is about courage, resilience and pushing beyond your limits. Walking across hot coals might sound daunting, but taking part is a chance to prove to yourself that you're capable of more than you think. By conquering your fear, you'll also be helping others."
The event is open to anyone over the age of 12 looking for a unique personal challenge while raising money for a good cause.
