Nightingale House Hospice Launches Run the Beat Fundraising Evening
Hospice Launches Run the Beat Fundraiser

Event Overview

Nightingale House Hospice has announced a new community fundraising initiative called Run the Beat, a unique evening event that blends fitness, music, and charity. Scheduled for September 19 at Queensway Stadium in Wrexham, the event invites participants to walk, jog, or dance around a track while wearing wireless headphones, creating a personal soundtrack experience. The inclusive, non-competitive atmosphere is designed to welcome people of all ages and abilities, from seasoned runners to families with young children and groups of friends or colleagues.

How It Works

Attendees will receive wireless headphones that allow them to enjoy music as they move along the route. The event is not a race, so participants can set their own pace, whether they choose to stroll, power-walk, or dance. As the sun sets over the venue, the circuit will be illuminated for a scenic experience. Four laps around the standard athletics track equal approximately one mile, enabling those who wish to track their distance easily.

Memory Miles Feature

A special aspect of Run the Beat is the Memory Miles element, which allows participants to dedicate specific laps to loved ones. This provides a meaningful way to honour and remember individuals, adding an emotional layer to the fundraising activity.

Fundraising Impact

Every penny raised from the event will go directly to Nightingale House Hospice, supporting its specialist palliative care services for people with life-limiting conditions. The charity aims to help patients and their families live well despite their diagnosis through expert medical, emotional, and practical support.

Community Call to Action

Elise Jackson, events and campaigns manager at Nightingale House Hospice, stated: "Run the Beat is all about bringing people together for an evening of music, movement and fun while supporting a cause that means so much to our community. Whether you're an experienced runner, enjoy a leisurely walk, or simply want to challenge yourself and dance the miles away as the sun goes down, this event is for everyone. We'd love to see friends, families and colleagues getting involved, creating memories together and raising funds to help us continue providing expert care and support to patients and their loved ones to live well despite their diagnosis. The Memory Miles element also gives people a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate someone special as they take part."
