Allison Homes Central has donated £600 to Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, a Corby-based organisation supporting families affected by childhood cancer. The donation funded two places on a special classroom programme, a new tablet device to support learning, and two activity packs designed to bring comfort and joy to children.
How the Donation Helps Local Families
Based in the Priors Hall Park community, Bemorefab provides practical support, education, and awareness initiatives. The charity was founded after the founder’s daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2022. It works directly with schools to explain childhood cancer in simple ways and keep children connected to friendships.
One unique initiative sees a large stuffed fox take a child’s place in the classroom while they are away. Classmates fill the backpack of the toy with drawings and messages so the patient feels remembered. The charity also raises awareness of childhood cancer and promotes the importance of blood and organ donations.
Development and Community Impact
Allison Homes recently secured planning permission to deliver 161 new homes in the Priors Hall Park neighbourhood, featuring a collection of homes ranging from one to five bedrooms. Andrew Bark, founder and chief executive officer of Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, said: “The support from Allison Homes means so much to everyone here at Bemorefab CCC. Donations like this make it possible for us to be there for children and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives, whether that’s helping a child stay connected to education during treatment, supporting siblings who are often the unsung heroes of a cancer journey, or simply ensuring no child ever feels forgotten.” He continued: “We are incredibly grateful to Allison Homes and the team at Priors Hall Park for choosing to support us. Every penny donated will go directly towards changing lives and helping children and families feel seen, supported and connected throughout their journey.”
Adam Knight, managing director at Allison Homes Central, added: “Supporting organisations that make a genuine difference within communities close to our developments is incredibly important to us. Bemorefab carries out remarkable work supporting children and families through some of life’s most challenging moments, helping young people stay connected to education, friendships and everyday life during treatment.” He concluded: “We’re proud our donation will support initiatives designed to provide comfort, practical support and moments of happiness to children when they need it most.”
