The streets of Loughborough will be transformed into a sea of festive red this December as the popular Santa Run returns to raise vital funds for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Event Details and Festive Fun
The annual fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, with places still available for those eager to participate. The main run kicks off at 11am, but the festive atmosphere will begin much earlier, with Christmas activities starting in the Market Place from 9.30am.
Participants, dressed in their best Santa costumes, can choose between a 5km or a 2.5km route. The event is also open to four-legged friends, with special doggy bandannas available.
Making a Vital Difference
Claire Hoggan, Rainbows senior events officer, emphasised the importance of the event. "This event is always so much fun and we have great feedback," she said. "Christmas can be such a difficult time for so many of our Rainbows families and you can help spread some festive joy by taking part and raising vital funds."
All money raised helps the hospice provide palliative and end-of-life care to more than 750 babies, children, and young people from across the East Midlands, whether at the hospice, in hospital, or at home.
New for Young Fundraisers
A new addition this year is the Little Fundraisers’ Challenge Pack, available for £1. By taking on the challenge and raising £35, a child can fund a crucial play therapy session. Each pack contains a festive colouring envelope and fun stickers, and every child who completes the challenge will receive their own Penny Puppy teddy.
Registration fees are set at £15 for adults and £8 for under-16s, which includes a Santa t-shirt. A doggy bandanna costs £2.50.
