The Gym Group Kingston has launched a bra collection drive to raise funds for vital breast cancer research while keeping textiles out of landfills. Community members are encouraged to drop off unwanted bras at the gym, located in Middlesex.
How the Bra Bank Works
The bra bank supports the charity Against Breast Cancer. Money raised through recycling will directly fund research into stage four breast cancer, which has spread to other parts of the body. Items that cannot be reused are passed to specialist partners who break them down for products like car seat filling, reducing fabric waste sent to local landfill sites.
Organizer's Personal Mission
The collection was organized by the gym manager and pageant queen Mrs Earth Middlesex 2026. Inspired by her mother's health journey—diagnosed with stage four breast cancer eight years ago—she champions early detection. She previously raised £1,000 for Coppafeel through a local fundraising event and now uses her pageant platform to empower women with breast health knowledge while promoting sustainability.
Upcoming Pageant and Impact
The campaigner will compete in the Mrs Earth UK pageant on August 30 in Hertford. She hopes the bra bank encourages open conversations about health and environmental responsibility.
