Seven community organisations across Lincolnshire are celebrating after receiving a total of £7,619 in funding from The Bradbury Foundation to help bring local people together. The grants support initiatives aimed at reducing loneliness, improving wellbeing, and encouraging creativity.
Funding for diverse local projects
Each project chosen in the latest funding round makes a meaningful difference to people in its local community. Among those benefiting is Caistor Friendship Club, where funding will help provide an annual communal Christmas lunch to bring members aged 60 and over together to tackle social isolation. Gainborough Men's Shed will also receive support to purchase art materials that encourage wellbeing, confidence, and social connection.
Accessibility focus
Accessibility is also a key focus for this year's grants. Disability Social Network has secured funding for a fully accessible seaside trip for members living with disabilities or long-term health conditions, creating a special day out many might not otherwise experience.
Creative opportunities for young people
Creative opportunities are getting a boost too, with Our Big Picture receiving money for a summer holiday workshop and materials for its 'Young Artists Exhibition', open to young people aged four to 19. Meanwhile, Grimsby in Bloom CIC will install an additional interpretation board at its community garden and repair café to help visitors learn about local wildlife.
Festive cheer and community events
Festive cheer is on the cards for Lincolnshire Cares, which will use its grant to help fund a Christmas celebration for more than 100 older people. Finally, The Culture House will receive support for its 'Picnic in the Park' programme, including this year's 'Teddy Bears' Picnic', which has been dedicated to The Bradbury Foundation in memory of Lee Bradbury.
