A local business is going above and beyond to support the Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children's hospices. The Craft Beer Cave in Penrhyn Bay is organizing a special 10.5-mile trek called Miles for Smiles on May 16. The walk will take participants from the bottle shop along the promenade and around the Great Orme before returning for food and refreshments.
Long-Term Support for the Charity
The business has been a steadfast supporter of the charity for some time, having already raised nearly £10,000 through community events. Entry for the walk costs £10 for adults or £5 for children under 16, and all participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
A Cause Close to the Community's Heart
Beverley Williams, co-owner of the Craft Beer Cave, believes the charity holds a special place in the hearts of the local community. She said: "Tŷ Gobaith is a cause close to our heart and that of the community in Penrhyn Bay. We've seen firsthand the difference they make to families who are coping with unimaginable circumstances daily. So please come and join us on Miles for Smiles, enjoy the beauty on our doorstep and raise vital funds for Tŷ Gobaith."
The walk is set to start at 11am, and there are only 50 places available for those wishing to take part.
Gratitude from the Charity
Andy Everley from Tŷ Gobaith expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support from the Penrhyn Bay community. He said: "We are super grateful to Craft Beer Cave and the Penrhyn Bay community for their ongoing support. They always pull something special out of the bag and have raised thousands of pounds to support local children and families living with a life-threatening condition. Fingers crossed for some sunshine and good luck to Bev and all the walkers. Thank you."
Post-Trek Refreshments
After the trek, walkers can refuel at a new not-for-profit food truck called Tŷ Grill, which will be serving kebabs and tacos. If you would like to join the event, you can register by visiting the shop on Glan-Y-Mor Road or calling Beverley on 07808 880690.
