Miller Homes Donates £555 to Youth Zone Gardening Project

Miller Homes North West has donated £555 to Warrington Youth Zone through its Community Fund initiative. The grant will support the charity's Sustainable Gardening project, which involves 20 local youngsters working towards a recognised qualification while gaining practical gardening experience.

Participants will grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers using new growing barrels. They will also construct custom bug hotels to take home, encouraging local wildlife in their own gardens. The project aims to provide hands-on learning and a sense of achievement.

Supporting Youth Since the 1930s

Warrington Youth Zone has been supporting young people across the town since the 1930s. The centre opens every day of the year, offering a safe space for hundreds of local youths. Clare Horbury, Sales Director at Miller Homes, said: “Warrington Youth Zone provides an incredible range of opportunities for young people to learn new skills, build their confidence and spend time in a safe and supportive environment.”

She added: “We hope our contribution helps bring their creative plans for the garden to life and gives participants an experience they can be proud of.”

Impact and Community Commitment

Tracy Gould, from Warrington Youth Zone, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Miller Homes for supporting our Sustainable Gardening project. This funding will help young people gain a recognised qualification while enjoying practical experiences in the garden, from planting and harvesting their own food to creating bug hotels they can take home. We are particularly excited to see their edible plant volcano take shape and become the centrepiece of the space.”

The donation highlights Miller Homes' ongoing pledge to support community causes. Their nearby residential development in Great Sankey is currently welcoming interest from prospective buyers. The Community Fund scheme has provided over £40,000 in grants to worthy causes across the region since launching.
