P&A Group Celebrates 40 Years with Major Charity Donations to MS Society and Animal Rescue
P&A Group's £16k Charity Donation Marks 40th Anniversary

Family-owned business P&A Group has celebrated a landmark year of charitable giving by presenting substantial donations to its two chosen charities for 2025. The company marked both its 40th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of its Zest Outdoor Living division with cheques totalling over £16,000 for MS Society Cymru and North Clwyd Animal Rescue.

Significant Financial Contributions

Funds raised throughout 2025 amounted to £12,823.97 for MS Society Cymru and £3,320.65 for North Clwyd Animal Rescue. The presentations were made to Andy Green, Fundraising Manager at MS Society Cymru, and Nicky Owen from NCAR during a special ceremony that reflected the company's milestone celebrations.

Ambitious Physical Challenges

Employees from across P&A Group and its divisions participated in an extensive programme of fundraising activities throughout the year. High-profile physical challenges formed a central part of their efforts, including multiple marathons and half marathons, the MBNA Chester 10K, and the demanding Born Survivor authentic military obstacle course.

Perhaps most notably, teams undertook the challenging Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, conquering Pen y Fan, Cadair Idris and Y Wyddfa (Snowdon) in a single day. Additional daring feats included the UK's highest bungee jump at Tatton Park, demonstrating remarkable commitment from participating staff members.

Inclusive Community Initiatives

Recognising that fundraising should be accessible to everyone, the company organised numerous non-sporting and community-based initiatives. These included popular baking events, 'month without' challenges where employees gave up certain luxuries, and seasonal raffles during Easter and Christmas periods.

The programme also featured a community quiz night hosted at Woodworks Garden Centre and a community yard sale held at the Group's Saltney site. Beyond financial contributions, colleagues gave 194 hours of hands-on support to North Clwyd Animal Rescue, including dedicated dog walking at the charity's Trelogan site near Holywell.

Charity Responses

Nicky Owen from North Clwyd Animal Rescue expressed profound gratitude for the support: "The commitment and generosity shown by everyone at P&A throughout the past year has been truly outstanding. The funds raised will make a significant difference, helping us rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need across North Wales."

Andy Green, Fundraising Manager at MS Society Cymru, added: "We are incredibly proud of what P&A Group has achieved through their fundraising efforts. The commitment shown throughout the year has been outstanding, and the funds raised will have a lasting impact, enabling us to continue providing vital services and support to people living with MS across Wales."

Corporate Philosophy and Legacy

Andrew Baker, managing director of P&A Group, commented on the broader significance of their fundraising culture: "This has been an incredibly proud year for everyone across P&A Group. I've seen real teamwork, resilience and encouragement, with colleagues supporting one another to achieve something truly meaningful. Our fundraising is about more than raising money, it's about building a culture of care, community and wellbeing."

The company emphasises the importance of shared experiences for both physical and mental wellbeing, encouraging employees to spend time together outdoors while taking on collective challenges.

Longstanding Charitable Commitment

Over the past 16 years, employees across P&A Group have raised and donated more than £190,000 for a wide range of local and national charities. Previous beneficiaries include Dementia UK, British Heart Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospices, Cancer Research UK, Action for Children, Alzheimer's Society, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Meningitis Now and MIND.

The cheque presentation coincided with a positive year for the Group, with several divisions receiving recognition for sustainability and product innovation. This reinforces P&A Group's commitment to responsible growth that supports long-term community investment alongside business development.

Company Background

Founded in 1985, P&A Group comprises three main divisions: Zest Outdoor Living, a leading supplier of award-winning timber garden products; the Woodworks Garden Centre and Café in Mold; and P&A Pallets & Packing Cases. The Group maintains a strong commitment to responsible business practices, supporting its employees while making positive contributions to the communities in which it operates.

Meanwhile, North Clwyd Animal Rescue has established itself as one of the largest animal rescue charities in North Wales and the North West, caring for more than 1,500 animals annually while specialising in the rescue and rehoming of domestic pets.
