Forest Holme Hospice Charity raised nearly £3,500 at its Summer Bingo Night, an event made possible by a sponsorship from a local property developer. The evening took place at the Canford Magna Complex on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and the funds raised will directly support the hospice's end-of-life care and bereavement services.
Funds to Support Vital Hospice Care
Forest Holme Hospice provides specialist care for local people affected by life-limiting illnesses, delivering support in patients' own homes as well as at its site in Poole. The charity must raise an additional £1 million each year to keep its doors open and services running. The £3,500 raised from the bingo night will contribute toward this essential fundraising target.
Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, which is currently building new homes nearby at its Canford Vale development, stepped up as headline sponsor for the event. The company donated £500 towards the event's running costs as part of its pledge to support neighbouring communities.
Gratitude from Hospice and Developer
Claire Cooper, from Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for sponsoring our Summer Bingo Night and helping make it such a fantastic success. The money raised will help Forest Holme Hospice continue providing specialist care and support to local people and their families when they need it most. A huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey and everyone who made the evening possible.”
Roz Wells, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, added: “We’re proud to have supported Forest Holme Hospice Charity’s Summer Bingo Night and we’re pleased to hear that it was successful in raising thousands of pounds to go towards the hospice’s services. Having accessible hospice care is vital in any community, and charities such as Forest Holme Hospice ensure that people with life-limiting conditions and their families have the support and care they need during an incredibly difficult time.”
Community Impact and Further Information
The bingo night was a community event that brought together local residents and supporters to raise funds for a cause that directly impacts the Poole area. The hospice's ongoing need to raise £1 million annually underscores the importance of such events and corporate sponsorships.
