Rochdale Mayor Teams Up with Easy Fundraising for Free Charity Donations
Rochdale Mayor Partners with Easy Fundraising for Charity

People living across Rochdale can now support local charities for free when they buy items online through a popular shopping app. The Mayor of Rochdale has teamed up with Easy Fundraising to turn everyday digital purchases into cash donations for his charity appeal.

How the Scheme Works

Residents in Heywood, Middleton, Pennines and Rochdale are being encouraged to download the application to help raise money for good causes. More than 8,000 brands have joined the scheme, including major high street favourites, supermarkets, tech companies and travel agents. Using the platform ensures a small percentage of each purchase goes directly to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

The cash raised will benefit Springhill Hospice, The Christie, SANDS, Rochdale Veterans’ Breakfast Club and the Rochdale Women’s Welfare Association.

Mayor's Call to Action

Councillor Faisal Rana, Mayor of Rochdale, said: "This is a fantastic scheme that makes a bit of retail therapy even more enjoyable, so please make your routine shopping count, download the app and give the Mayor’s Charity Appeal a welcome boost. Together we can make a huge difference – for free."

He continued: "I am already using the app, it took a couple of minutes to sign up and it’s really easy to use; there’s even a running total of how much has been donated. People can shop online as normal, it costs exactly the same, with the brands donating a small percentage of each purchase to our wonderful charities."
