Salop Leisure donates £1,000 to Severn Hospice

Salop Leisure has donated £1,000 to Severn Hospice following a creative World Cup fundraising effort. The Shrewsbury-based dealership pledged £50 for every goal scored by England during the tournament. With England netting 20 goals, the total contribution reached £1,000 to support vital local services.

Both England and France scored 20 goals overall, while Argentina reached 19 and Spain tallied 14. The dealership's initiative turned football excitement into tangible support for the hospice.

Impact on hospice services

Bean highlighted the importance of community support: “As a charity, we rely on the generosity of local businesses and communities to help us provide free specialist care and support to local families living with incurable illness.”

Ed Glover, Head of Marketing at Salop Leisure, said: “We might not be able to celebrate England raising the trophy, but we are really pleased with how much we have raised for Severn Hospice. The work of Severn Hospice is incredibly important.”

He continued: “They offer support to local people facing incurable illness, helping patients and their families through every stage of their journey. We are proud to be longstanding supporters, helping people in our community.”
