Community campaigner Shaz Saleem is preparing to step back into the boxing ring for a charity bout in November, this time raising funds for mental health charity Mind. The event is scheduled to take place at Samsons Banqueting Suite in Oldbury on November 14, where Mr Saleem will face Josh 'Lethal' Latimer.
Mr Saleem, who represents Evans Boxing & Fitness, previously fought Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, in a charity match that raised £28,000. That success has prompted him to return to the ring for another fundraising effort, this time focusing on mental health awareness.
A Cause Close to Home
Mind is a charity that provides support and information for people experiencing mental health problems. Mr Saleem’s latest fight aims to raise both funds and awareness for the organisation’s work. He expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming match, highlighting the importance of the cause.
“After the incredible experience of my last fight and helping raise £28,000, I’m delighted to be getting back in the ring,” Mr Saleem said. “This time, I’m proud to be supporting Mind and helping raise awareness of the importance of mental health.”

Mr Saleem acknowledged the challenges ahead, noting that the training will be demanding and the fight itself will not be easy. However, he emphasised that the purpose behind the event makes the effort worthwhile.
“I know the training will be tough and the fight will be challenging, but knowing we’re doing it for such an important cause makes every punch worthwhile,” he added.
