St Ives Community Choir has raised more than £1,200 for a vital local organisation at their latest summer concert. An audience of more than 100 people filled St Ives Free Church to enjoy the seasonal performance, listening to popular hits from The Beatles, Bryan Adams, and several classic stage shows.
Funds Raised for Caring Together Charity
Ticket sales and raffle tickets from the evening raised the four-figure sum for Caring Together Charity, which supports unpaid carers who look after loved ones across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Norfolk. Volunteers and staff from the charity helped run the event by serving refreshments and checking tickets.
Organisers Delighted with Turnout
Organisers were delighted with the turnout and the generosity of everyone who came to watch. Lynnette Ballantyne, community fundraiser, said: “What an incredible night! St Ives Community Choir put on a brilliant concert and we are hugely thankful to them for supporting Caring Together. We are delighted with the amount raised. These vital funds will make a huge impact in helping us reach more carers in the region.”
Musical Director Praises Performance
Hazel Shah, musical director, said: “It was great to see so many people come and support the concert and I was so proud of how well the choir performed. We are grateful to the Caring Together staff and volunteers for all their help on the night and it is wonderful that the concert has raised so much money for such a crucial local cause.”
