Tenby Golf Club has raised £1,600 for the Wales Air Ambulance through an inaugural prize draw, contributing to a total of over £5,500 donated by the club over several years. The funds were raised by raffling off free player vouchers donated by 12 prestigious golf courses across South Wales, valued at more than £3,000.
Cheque Presentation at the Coastal Course
Club chairman Austin Davies, president Christopher Beecher, and vice president Tony Key OBE presented the cheque to charity representatives at the Tenby Golf Club. The event marked the first tournament of its kind, with hopes that future leaders will continue the tradition.
Tony Key OBE, vice president of the golf club, said: "The raffle prizes on offer on this occasion were provided by 12 other prestigious Golf Clubs across South Wales in the form of free golf for four players and the total accumulated value was in excess of £3,000. We were delighted to be in a position to present Wales Air Ambulance with a cheque for £1,600 raised by raffling off the generous donations. We hope to continue to support this worthwhile charity for many years to come. Our donation to Wales Air Ambulance is a huge thank you to this wonderful charity that must be supported for the benefit of all."
Wales Air Ambulance: 25 Years of Service
The emergency service provides advanced clinical care, including blood transfusions and minor operations, at the scene of illness or injury. Highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners work on board the vehicles to help people across Wales. The charity is celebrating 25 years of operation since launching with a single aircraft. It now operates a 24-hour service with four aircraft and a fleet of rapid response cars.
Medical crews have attended more than 57,000 missions, treating patients on roadsides, mountainsides, and coastlines. The service relies entirely on charitable donations to meet its annual running costs of £13 million.

A huge thank you to everyone at Tenby Golf Club and the competitors who played a part in raising a wonderful £1,600 for the Wales Air Ambulance. It was lovely to meet the members of the golf club during the recent cheque presentation. Our charity needs to raise £13 million every year to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. The golf club raffle will help us to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most. Thank you to everyone who donated to our cause."
