The spirit of Christmas generosity has shone brightly at a Warley school, with pupils successfully gathering a mountain of presents for children living in challenging circumstances around the world.
A Community United in Generosity
Each year, Ursuline Preparatory School in Warley, Essex, champions the Christmas Shoebox Appeal run by the international relief organisation, Samaritan's Purse. This annual initiative calls on the school community to donate and assemble shoeboxes filled with gifts, destined for children who might otherwise receive very little during the festive season.
The school appealed to every family to contribute at least one box. The response from the Warley community was described as exceptional, surpassing all expectations.
An Impressive Haul of Holiday Cheer
The collective effort resulted in an impressive donation of 162 carefully packed shoeboxes. Each box is brimming with a variety of wonderful gifts, selected to bring smiles and comfort. These parcels of joy will soon begin their journeys to children across Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.
Samaritan's Purse, which works through local churches worldwide, will handle the global distribution. The organisation is dedicated to providing essential aid and demonstrating compassion to families in need.

A spokesperson for Ursuline Prep School expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support. "We have been very lucky this year with the generosity shown by our families," they said. "Thank you to all our children, parents, and staff who took the time and effort to fill a box."
