Flickers & Flyers CIC, a popular childcare group in Wallasey, has launched an urgent appeal to find a new home after being forced to close without warning due to health and safety issues at its venue in St Joseph's on Wheatland Lane. The organisation has provided a safe space for local children to play and learn for 10 years.
Building Issues Force Closure
Leaders are awaiting an official report to explain the exact building problems and necessary repairs. St Joseph's School has offered temporary use of its school hall over the summer break, but the group still needs guidance from Ofsted because its registration is linked to the physical venue.
Fundraising Drive Launched
Supporters have started a fundraising drive to secure permanent new premises. The money raised will cover moving costs, essential renovations, equipment, and new Ofsted registration fees. Organisers say any donation from £5 to £500 will help protect a vital resource where parents feel supported and children thrive.
People who cannot afford to donate are asked to share the fundraising page with friends and local businesses. To support the campaign, visit the JustGiving page. To find out more, visit the Flickers & Flyers website.
