A community centre in Church, Lancashire, has purchased a new automated external defibrillator (AED) to enhance the safety of its visitors. The life-saving device has been installed inside the main building of the Norfolk Grove facility, ensuring it can be accessed quickly during a medical emergency.
Funding and Maintenance
The equipment was funded entirely by the charity trustees who oversee the running of the popular neighbourhood site. They have also covered the cost of a comprehensive maintenance plan to guarantee the machine remains operational at all times and is stocked with the correct medical pads for both adults and children.
According to the trustees, the decision to invest in the defibrillator was driven by the high volume of visitors, including many young families. The centre sees hundreds of people each year who use its nursery, family support services, and other community programs.
Peace of Mind for Families
Having the AED on site provides extra reassurance for new parents, toddlers, and learners who regularly use the building. The device reflects the ongoing commitment of the charity to create a secure and welcoming environment for local residents.
