A brand new soft play area has opened in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, offering families a colourful addition to their list of things to do in the Warwickshire market town.
Stratford Soft Play: A New Attraction
Stratford Soft Play, located at Stratford Leisure Centre, is a two-tier structure designed for children up to eight years old. The facility boasts brightly-coloured slides, building blocks, spinning panels, and sensory features, encouraging children to develop motor skills through balancing, sliding, and rolling.
Richard Bell, contract manager at Everyone Active, which runs the centre in partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to unveil our brand-new soft play facility, which we hope will become a much-loved feature of Stratford Leisure Centre. It is now open for families to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming new and existing members to our dedicated play facilities in time for spring and the summer holidays following this fantastic investment.”
Additional Facilities at the Leisure Centre
The leisure centre also features a swimming pool with 'mega inflatables' every weekend, a cafe, sports hall, gym, and wellness suite. The soft play area has replaced the previous clip ’n climb facility.
Entry is available to both members and non-members at just £5 midweek and £6 at weekends for children, with no charge for adults. Parents have responded with excitement following the opening. One said: “We absolutely LOVED it and will be back! It’s a lot bigger than I expected… which is awesome.”
How to Get There
The address is Stratford Soft Play, Bridgeway, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6YX. It takes around 50 minutes to drive from Birmingham via the M42 and M40, traffic permitting. Alternatively, there is a direct train from Birmingham Moor Street to Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway, with the leisure centre a couple of miles from the station.

The soft play centre is open on weekdays from 9am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 4pm.
