A special event in Ripley later this year will bring vital support and advice directly to older residents. Organisers are hosting the session to give local people, carers, and families a chance to meet face-to-face with dozens of community services. Visitors will be able to speak directly with team members from various charities, health services, and local businesses under one roof.
Event Aims to Simplify Access to Help
The gathering aims to make accessing help much easier for those who may not always know where to turn or feel confident reaching out. Attendees can get advice on everything from health and well-being to legal matters and money support.
Organisations Taking Part
Organisations attending include Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Citizens Advice, Live Stronger for Longer, and Hearing Help UK for Derbyshire. Groups such as Rethink Mental Illness, Amber Valley CVS, Infinite Wellbeing, Public Health, Ellis-Fermor & Negus Solicitors, and Funeral Coop will also have stalls.
Friendly Atmosphere to Combat Loneliness
Organisers hope the friendly setting will help reduce loneliness and help older residents feel far more connected to their local community. The event is completely free to attend and free hot drinks and cake will be available for visitors throughout the day.
