A shopkeeper in Acocks Green has issued a heartfelt plea for information after a masked burglar broke into his store in the early hours of Tuesday, May 25. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the suspect squeezing through a small back window to gain entry to MC Bargains, a clothing shop.
CCTV Footage Shows Brazen Break-In
The footage, released by the shop owner Mark Convey, depicts a man dressed in a Nike tracksuit forcing his way through the window between 2:50am and 3:30am. Once inside, the intruder caused significant damage to the property, stole cash from the till, and took the keys to Mr Convey's van. He then proceeded to steal items from the van parked outside.
Mr Convey shared the video on Facebook with a direct appeal: "Please share this post and help me find this scumbag." He emphasized the impact of the crime, stating, "This wasn’t just theft, this is someone destroying a business people have worked hard to build."
Security Measures and Police Involvement
In response to the burglary, security bars have been installed on the back window to prevent future break-ins. Mr Convey has urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in identifying the suspect.
