Barman Applauded for Ejecting Flag Group Co-Founder

A Birmingham barman received applause after ejecting members of the flag group Raise the Colours from a city centre pub. Ryan Bridge, co-founder of the group known for hanging St George's and Union flags from lamp-posts nationwide, was removed from The Queens Arms on Newhall Street last week.

Confrontation Caught on Camera

Footage shows the barman at the Jewellery Quarter pub telling Bridge he was "not welcome" as he escorted him and his associates out. Punters can be heard clapping as the 44-year-old activist is shown the door. The clip, shared online by Raise the Colours, captures Bridge asking if he was being told to leave because of his group's T-shirt. The Irish barman responds: "Yes, you're damn right. You guys aren't welcome here."

Heated Exchange

Bridge retorts: "You're the problem in the country, you are," sparking an argument with a male customer. The flag group leader then threatens: "I'll spark you out." Raise the Colours, founded in Birmingham by Bridge and Elliott Stanley, claims to be driven by patriotism and has voiced opposition to illegal migration across the English Channel. However, the group has faced criticism and controversy.
