A community group dedicated to supporting older people and those living with memory challenges is expanding its reach following a move to new premises.
New Home at Enderby Leisure Centre
Bright Ways Community CIC, formerly known as Sapcote Memory Hub CIC, has recently moved into new premises at Enderby Leisure Centre. The organisation offers a welcoming community space for older adults, particularly those living with dementia and other memory-related conditions.
Funding Boost from Persimmon Homes
The group has been awarded £5,000 from Persimmon Homes North Midlands through the housebuilder’s Community Champions initiative. The funding will help Bright Ways continue delivering activities and services designed to support wellbeing, social connection, and engagement for members and their families.
Cheque Presentation
The cheque presentation was attended by Kevin Pryor, technical director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, Alberto Costa MP, and Katie Grigg, founder and CEO of Bright Ways Community CIC, along with members and supporters of the group.
Katie Grigg, founder and CEO of Bright Ways Community CIC, said: “This funding comes at an important time for us as we begin a new chapter as Bright Ways Community CIC. Our move to Enderby Leisure Centre allows us to reach even more people in the community, and this support will help us continue providing a safe, welcoming space for those living with memory challenges and their families.”
Kevin Pryor, technical director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, added: “We’re proud to support Bright Ways Community CIC and the vital work they do for older residents in the community. We hope this donation will help them continue to expand their support.”
Alberto Costa MP for South Leicestershire, said: “It was great to visit Bright Ways Community CIC again and to see their new premises. I’ve seen before the impact of their hard work, so it’s fantastic to see them growing and reaching even more people. The move to their new home is a big step forward, and this funding will help them keep supporting residents and families across the area.”
