Folkestone Rotary Club Elects Three Presidents in Unusual Joint Leadership
Folkestone Rotary Club Elects Three Presidents

The Channel Rotary Club in Folkestone has broken with tradition by appointing three joint presidents for the upcoming year, a decision revealed through a humorous comedy sketch at their annual handover ceremony. Around 50 members and guests gathered at the newly refurbished Sene Valley Golf Clubhouse for the event, which featured a dinner prepared by local caterers on the terrace overlooking the English Channel.

Outgoing Leaders Pass the Torch

Outgoing presidents Howard Cocker and Colin Tomson officially transferred their leadership duties during the evening. The chain of office was passed to Courtney Collins, Edwin Beddy, and Gary Calver, who will share the presidential responsibilities. The trio's joint leadership was introduced via a light-hearted comedy sketch that kept the audience entertained.

Community Achievements and Fundraising

The evening also included a review of the club's community initiatives and fundraising events completed over the past year. Members celebrated raising vital funds for various local causes that might otherwise go unsupported. The event highlighted the success of a new scheme designed to attract fresh supporters to the group, and a new corporate member representing a popular local hotel was officially inducted.
