Four individuals have been arrested following the discovery of a cannabis farm valued at over £100,000 during an investigation into a burglary at Worfield Golf Club near Bridgnorth, Shropshire. West Mercia Police confirmed that the drugs factory was located at an address separate from the golf club.
Burglary and Subsequent Discovery
The burglary occurred on Sunday, July 13, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Three suspects were initially arrested in connection with the break-in. As part of the ongoing investigation, officers executed a search warrant at an associated address, where they uncovered more than 100 cannabis plants.
With each plant estimated to have a street value of around £1,000 in the United Kingdom, the total value of the cannabis cultivation is believed to exceed £100,000.
Arrests and Charges
West Mercia Police made four arrests in total. A 47-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and a 51-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of burglary and cultivation of cannabis. Additionally, a 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary. All four have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Inspector Paul Drury of West Mercia Police commented: "This investigation demonstrates how quickly our officers have identified suspects, made arrests and pursued every available line of enquiry. What began as an investigation into a burglary has also resulted in the discovery of a significant cannabis cultivation, removing more than 100 plants from circulation."
He added: "Cannabis grows are often linked to organised criminality and the illegal supply of drugs, which can have a devastating impact on our communities. We remain committed to disrupting those involved in this type of offending and bringing offenders to justice."
Ongoing Investigation
Police have stated that enquiries into both the burglary and the cannabis cultivation are ongoing. They are urging anyone with information who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
