Lumb Millennium Green Community Fun & Fitness Event a Success
Lumb Millennium Green Event Draws Crowds

The Friends of Lumb Millennium Green, supported by Rossendale Rotary, hosted an ambitious community fun and fitness event on Sunday, July 5, which was thoroughly enjoyed by many local residents, including the Mayor of Rossendale, Cllr Liz McInnes, and her consort Steve Duxbury.

Non-Stop Musical Entertainment

The musical entertainment was virtually non-stop, with performances from the Ukes of Hazzy, Water Band, and the Rossendale Drum Majorettes, all playing to a very appreciative audience.

Stalls and Activities

Attendees enjoyed a variety of stalls from Lumb Baptist Church, Incredible Edible Rossendale, Whitewell Bottom Community Centre, Rossendale Ramblers, Go Velo cycling, Abbie's Health and Fitness, and Energy Bodi, plus the Rossendale Rotary Human Fruit Machine. Children's activities included penalty competitions, a ball game provided by the Sea Cadets, a wildlife hunt, and a fun assault course. Safety was assured by the attendance of Community Defibs for Rossendale and Community First Responders.

Dog Competitions

Lumb Millennium Green is a popular spot for dog walkers, and their four-legged friends were not forgotten, with keenly-contested competitions in four different fun categories, including a 'Golden Oldie' dog competition.

A Brilliant Community Gathering

All in all, it was a brilliant coming together that will certainly be repeated next year. The organizers expressed grateful thanks to all who attended, in whatever capacity.
