West Midlands Police are investigating the discovery of bones at allotments in Birmingham. The force received reports on Friday, May 15, that bones had been found off Wheelers Lane in Kings Heath.
Officers attended the scene and established that the majority of the bones were not human remains. However, further testing is being carried out on one bone to determine its origin.
Local residents noticed police presence at the allotments over the weekend. Police inquiries are ongoing.
A police spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports that bones had been found in Wheelers Lane, Birmingham, at 7.10pm on May 15. It has been confirmed that the majority of the bones discovered are not human remains. Further testing is being carried out on another to establish its origin. The scene has since been closed and our enquiries are ongoing."
