Appeal After Birmingham City Centre Sexual Assault

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information following a sexual assault in Birmingham city centre. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 12 March, near the junction of Hurst Street and Smallbrook Queensway.

Details of the Incident

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was approached by an unknown man who then sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and jeans at the time of the attack.

Police Investigation

Detectives from West Midlands Police are investigating the assault and have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. They believe he may have important information that could assist their inquiries.

Officers are also reviewing local CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area. They are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and may have witnessed the assault or seen the suspect to come forward.

Detective Constable Sarah Jones said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, and we are doing everything we can to trace the person responsible. We would urge anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image or who has any information to contact us immediately."
