A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a brutal attack in Birmingham left a man unconscious. The victim was out shopping with his partner when he was assaulted in Yardley Road, near Yardley Cemetery, at around 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 27.
The victim was reportedly knocked unconscious, with his eyes rolling back, as his girlfriend desperately tried to pull the attacker away. Good Samaritans came to their aid, with one calling an ambulance and another driving the couple home. The partner expressed gratitude, saying, 'We're both so grateful.'
Police Investigation
West Midlands Police confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on May 28 in connection with the incident. He has been bailed with conditions pending further enquiries. A police spokesperson stated: 'We are investigating after a man was assaulted in Yardley Road, Birmingham, at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Officers attended, and the man was treated at hospital for injuries not believed to be life-changing.'
