Staffordshire Police are searching for a man described as having an accent 'local to Birmingham' after a robbery at Town Wall Nature Reserve in Tamworth on Wednesday, August 26.
The victim, a 21-year-old man, was walking through the nature reserve in the Wilnecote area at around 7.15pm when he was confronted by the suspect and told to hand over his belongings.
He refused and attempted to run away, but the assailant caught up with him, attacked him, and stole his mobile phone and AirPods before fleeing towards Sycamore.
Suspect description released
Officers have released a detailed description of the offender in a bid to trace him. The suspect is described as a black male, aged between 16 and 20 years old, wearing a black puffer jacket and black trousers.
His accent is described as being local to Birmingham, according to a force spokesperson.
Police have conducted enquiries in the vicinity of the nature reserve, but are now appealing for anyone with additional information to come forward.
Appeal for footage and information
The force spokesperson said: "The offender is described as a black male, aged 16 to 20-years-old, wearing a black puffer jacket and black trousers.
"His accent is described as being local to Birmingham."
They added: "Officers have conducted enquiries in the vicinity but we are appealing for anyone who may have any other CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage or any relevant information that may assist us in identifying the offender to contact us on 101 quoting incident 724 of 26/08/2026.
"Alternatively, you can get in touch via the online form on our website."
