Birmingham Man Arrested After Beach Death Released on Bail

A 24-year-old man from Birmingham who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man at a Welsh beach has been released on bail. The victim, aged 34, died after an incident in the water at Barmouth beach on Monday, May 25, shortly after 3pm. His family is being supported by specialist officers.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

North Wales Police has urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. Detective Superintendent Chris Bell said: 'I would like to thank all members of the public who assisted the man on the beach on Monday, and to everybody who has contacted us since. We have received an overwhelming response from the public, which is incredibly helpful to our enquiries.'

Call for Photos and Videos

Police are appealing for anyone who was on the beach between 2pm and 4pm and took photos or videos to send them in. 'We are interested in all photos or videos taken on any part of the beach during the afternoon. Any image could be relevant to our investigation,' Bell added.

A force spokesperson said there will continue to be an increased police presence in the Barmouth area for reassurance. Anyone with information is urged to upload footage to the Major Incident Police Portal.
