A Birmingham man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a woman was struck by a car in Tamworth, leaving her with leg and ankle injuries.
Collision Details
The serious collision occurred in Fazeley at around midday on Wednesday, April 15. The vehicle involved was a white and black Toyota Aygo. The woman sustained injuries to her leg and ankle.
Arrest and Charges
A 48-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving. He was also held on suspicion of driving with a specified controlled drug above the limit and grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on police bail while investigations continue.
Police Statement
Staffordshire Police issued a statement on June 9, confirming the arrest. A force spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested following a collision in Tamworth. At around noon on Wednesday, April 15, a woman suffered injuries to her leg and ankle following a collision involving a white and black Toyota Aygo in Fazeley."
"A 48-year-old, from the Birmingham area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving, driving a vehicle with a specified controlled drug above the specified limit and grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on bail while our enquiries continue."
