Mohammed Khan, 20, of Adderley Gardens, Saltley, has been charged with nine offences after police recovered 87 zombie knives, more than £4,000 in cash, and a stash of Class A drugs in Birmingham.
The County Lines Taskforce (CLTF) executed a series of warrants on Thursday, August 20, as part of an investigation into the 'Pablo' drug line. During the operation, officers seized 87 zombie knives, over £4,000 in cash, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
Charges and court appearance
Khan faces nine charges including possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He is also charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis, as well as acquiring, using and possessing criminal property, possession of ammunition without a certificate, and marketing a combat knife for the purpose of sale or hire.
He was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court in the near future.
Police reaction
Det Insp Mark Robinson, from CLTF, said: "This has been great work from the team securing these charges. Importantly, we have taken over 80 zombie knives off the streets."
He added: "This charge in relation to the sale of knives is the first of its kind for West Midlands Police, championing the drive to support the national enquiry in relation to knives."
Impact of the operation
The recovery of the weapons and drugs represents a significant blow to the 'Pablo' drug line operating in Birmingham. The charge related to the sale of knives marks a milestone for West Midlands Police, as it is the first such charge brought by the force. The investigation continues as authorities seek to disrupt drug supply and remove dangerous weapons from communities.
