Over 10,000 incidents of antisocial behaviour were recorded in Birmingham in 2025, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.
A total of 10,328 antisocial behaviour (ASB) incidents were recorded across the city by West Midlands Police (WMP) last year, the Freedom of Information request submitted by BirminghamLive has shown.
The Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 defines antisocial behaviour as "behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person."
Birmingham City Centre had the highest level of antisocial behaviour in 2025 with 635 incidents, whereas Sutton Four Oaks had the lowest with 52. This means the city centre had more than 12 times more ASB incidents recorded last year in comparison with Four Oaks.
WMP actively looks to tackle issues reported to the body, working with council partners and the wider community to fully understand and address any concerns. The police are dedicated to keeping Birmingham's communities safe, and there are dedicated neighbourhood officers to help deal with crime and ASB at a community level. These officers work as part of a wider team and were established as part of the government's ‘neighbourhood policing guarantee’ earlier this year.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We don’t tolerate anti-social behaviour in Birmingham or anywhere in the West Midlands, and we’re working with our partners every day to tackle it as we know the effect it can have on people’s lives."
"Specific patrols in hotspot areas are aimed at reducing ASB, and as well as providing visible reassurance, we’re targeting those suspected of being involved in crime and disorder."
"We have an ASB action plan, aiming to make communities safer by stopping, preventing, and responding to ASB – with a harm-focussed approach that puts victims’ needs first."
"We had 13,000 responses to our Action on ASB survey earlier this year, which helps inform our local plans."
"We encourage you to continually talk to your local police officers about ASB concerns, and please report any issues to us."
