Birmingham New Street Knife Attack: Police Release CCTV

British Transport Police have issued a CCTV image of a man who may have information about an unprovoked knife attack at Birmingham New Street station. The victim, a man, was slashed on the arm as he walked through the travel hub.

The incident occurred at around 7:30pm on Thursday, April 23. The victim was approached by a man who shouted, 'What are you on?' before producing a knife and swinging it at him, slashing his arm. The suspect then fled the station in the direction of Smallbrook Queensway, towards the Bullring. No arrests have been made.

Police have stated that the victim's injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing. They believe the man in the CCTV image could have information that may assist their enquiries.
