They were also seen riding along footpaths towards the town centre. Officers located and stopped the vehicle in Salters Lane. The two persons tried to run off but one of them was quickly detained. The other male made good their escape.”
The statement continued, “The 14-year-old male, from Birmingham, was arrested for theft of motor vehicle, going equipped, dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance. He has since been released on conditional bail pending further investigation.”
