Teenager Critically Injured in Birmingham Car-Bike Collision
A 13-year-old boy has been left with suspected life-threatening injuries following a serious collision between a car and a bicycle in Birmingham. The incident occurred on St Andrews Road in the Nechells area of the city at 8.40pm on April 3.
The teenager remains in a serious condition in hospital as of April 4, according to West Midlands Police. Authorities have confirmed that a 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after the collision on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Police Investigation Underway
West Midlands Police were called to St Andrews Road following reports that a 13-year-old boy had been seriously injured and the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. The boy was transported to hospital with injuries described as potentially life-threatening.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "A teenager has been arrested after a young boy was seriously injured when a car collided with his bike in Birmingham last night. The boy was taken to hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries and remains in a serious condition."
The 19-year-old suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
