Prolific Birmingham Thief Jailed After 16 Raids on Same Shop

A prolific shop thief has been sentenced to 48 weeks in prison after repeatedly targeting the same store in Birmingham, with all incidents captured on video footage.

Details of the Crimes

Richard Chisholm, 41, of no fixed address, carried out 16 thefts at a shop on Hamstead Road in Great Barr during February and March. He stole more than £1,500-worth of items, including washing products and confectionary.

In addition to these raids, Chisholm also stole from stores on Walsall Road in Perry Barr in April and December of last year. Overall, he was charged with 19 shop theft offences.

Arrest and Sentencing

Chisholm was apprehended after being spotted by officers on patrol in Great Barr. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court last week, where he received a 48-week prison sentence.
