Birmingham's Most Dangerous Areas Revealed in New Crime List

Birmingham's most dangerous areas have been identified in a new crime analysis based on exclusive data from West Midlands Police. The figures cover the 12 months to April 2026 and focus on violent and sexual offences, the most serious category of crime.

Top Crime Hotspots

Lozells and East Handsworth recorded 2,379 violent and sexual offences, the highest in the city. Aston followed closely with 2,338, while South Yardley had 2,019. These areas have long been plagued by gang violence, including shootings and stabbings.

Other high-crime areas include Stockland Green (1,971), Acocks Green (1,904), and Sparkbrook (1,843). In contrast, the safest areas are in Sutton Coldfield, with Sutton Four Oaks recording just 359 offences, Sutton New Hall 485, and Sutton Vesey 488.
