Three people, including a 15-year-old schoolboy, have been arrested in connection with a serious assault near a Midlands nature reserve. The victim, a 32-year-old man, suffered multiple slash wounds to his chest, back, and legs in the attack, which took place on Friday, August 7, at approximately 7.10pm.
The man was walking along Bembridge Drive in Nottingham, towards Sandy Banks Nature Reserve, when he was attacked. Police officers patrolling in the nearby Oxclose Lane area spotted the injured man and immediately rushed to his aid. He was subsequently taken to hospital by paramedics, where he was treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Arrests Made Following Extensive Inquiries
Following the incident, Nottinghamshire Police launched an investigation. On Sunday, August 9, officers detained three suspects at a house in the area. The arrests were made after what police described as "extensive inquiries" by their policing teams.
The three individuals arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent are a 54-year-old man, a 42-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old boy. All three remain in police custody as inquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Stu Barson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The victim of this attack continues to be supported by specially trained officers and has now been updated about these arrests. All three suspects were detained at a house earlier this morning, which was identified following some extensive inquiries by our policing teams."
Police Appeal for Information
DI Barson added: "We hope news of this police action provides the public with some reassurance about how seriously we take offences of this nature. Despite making these arrests, our investigation into this incident remains ongoing, so we'd ask anyone who has any information that could assist our inquiries to please get in touch."
The police are urging anyone with information about the assault to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 699 of August 7, 2026. Alternatively, members of the public can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers, and the police have emphasised their commitment to tackling violent crime in the area. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as inquiries progress.
