Staffordshire Police have issued an appeal for information after a stolen car crashed in Tamworth shortly after being taken on Saturday night. The vehicle, a 24-plate grey Hyundai Tucson, was stolen from an address on Lichfield Road at around 10.50pm on Saturday, August 29, and crashed approximately 55 minutes later on Wilnecote Lane.
Crash details and location
The crash occurred at around 11.45pm on Wilnecote Lane, near the junction with Tamworth Road. Officers confirmed that the suspect fled the scene on foot towards Hamble, in the Belgrave area of the Staffordshire town.
The suspect is described as a slim male, wearing a baseball cap and a dark hoodie. Police have not yet confirmed whether any other vehicles were involved or if any injuries were sustained during the incident.

In a statement, Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information following a car theft in Tamworth. On Saturday, at approximately 10.50pm, a 24-plate Grey Hyundai Tucson was stolen from Lichfield Road, Tamworth. The vehicle crashed on Wilnecote Lane near to the junction of Tamworth Road at approximately 11.45pm. The suspect was reported to have fled the scene towards Hamble, Belgrave. They were described as a male, slim build wearing a baseball cap and a dark hoodie."
The force added: "We are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen the vehicle driving around the Tamworth area between the times above and may have information or footage which could help officers.
