Police Appeal for Information After Sexual Assault on Teenager in Birmingham
West Midlands Police have released CCTV footage of a man they are urgently seeking to identify following a reported sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Sandwell Road in Handsworth at approximately 7pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Details of the Assault and Investigation
The teenage victim is receiving support from specialist officers as detectives continue their investigation. Authorities have conducted extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area, speaking with witnesses, and carrying out door-to-door visits. Despite these efforts, no arrests have been made so far.
The released footage shows a man wearing distinctive pale grey clothing and a cap, whom investigators are keen to speak to in connection with the case. A police spokesperson stated, "Can you help investigators identify this man? Officers want to speak to him after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Sandwell Road, Birmingham."
Appeal to the Public for Assistance
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation. The spokesperson added, "We’ve carried out extensive enquiries with CCTV from the area being recovered and reviewed as well as witnesses spoken with and door-to-door enquiries carried out. Now, with the support of the victim we’re issuing footage which we hope will assist our investigation."
