West Midlands Police have taken two cars, suspected of being used by drug dealers, off the streets of Birmingham.
Operation Sparked by Intelligence
The police action was initiated after officers received recent intelligence concerning drug dealing activities in the Sparkhill area. Acting on this information, the force located and subsequently seized the vehicles, which had been abandoned in locations identified as crime hotspots.
Details of the Seized Vehicles
One of the confiscated cars was a BMW. A key detail noted by police was that neither of the vehicles had valid road tax. Photographs from the operation, shared by the police, showed the cars being loaded onto a low-loader recovery truck for removal.
Ongoing Inquiries and Public Appeal
While the vehicles are now in police possession, no arrests have been made at this stage. A police spokesperson confirmed that inquiries are ongoing. The Springfield and Sparkhill Police team announced the seizure on social media platform X, stating the action was a direct result of community intelligence and their focus on tackling crime in the area.
