Drug Dealer Jailed for 4 Years After Cocaine and Cannabis Seized in West Midlands
Drug dealer jailed for four years after police seizure

A drug dealer has been sentenced to four years in prison, ensuring he spends Christmas behind bars after police uncovered a significant supply operation in the West Midlands.

Traffic Stop Uncovers Criminal Network

Xhevahir Ademaj, aged 27, was first intercepted by officers when his car was pulled over in West Bromwich in July. During the stop, police seized a quantity of cannabis and, crucially, his mobile phone.

A forensic examination of the device revealed a network of clients he was supplying with drugs, providing the breakthrough for a wider investigation.

Raids Reveal Scale of Operation

Following the evidence from the phone, detectives from the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit raided a property linked to Ademaj on Ryland Street in Birmingham.

Inside, they discovered a haul of illegal substances and equipment, including:

  • Wraps of cocaine, a Class A drug.
  • A large amount of cannabis.
  • Wads of cash and multiple SIM cards.
  • Evidence that drugs were being packaged and distributed from the address.

Guilty Plea Leads to Prison Sentence

Ademaj, previously of Smethwick but of no fixed address, was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

He pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, December 9. The court handed down a four-year prison term.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We strongly believe Ademaj was a significant part of a supply chain and involved in large sales to other dealers. Drugs not only ruin lives but fuel other crime, and we've managed to take someone involved in the illegal network off the streets."

The force highlighted that the case forms part of Operation Target, their ongoing initiative to tackle organised crime and remove drugs from local communities.
