Edgbaston, widely regarded as one of the city's poshest and most affluent areas, has been identified as having the worst car crime rate across Birmingham. This revelation suggests that criminals may be deliberately targeting these leafy, well-to-do streets, where expensive vehicles are often parked on driveways.
Over 500 Vehicle Offences Reported in a Year
According to the data, more than 500 vehicle offences were reported in Edgbaston during the 12-month period leading up to December. This staggering figure translates to an average of over one incident per day, surpassing the rates recorded in any other part of the city. The high number of offences highlights a significant issue for residents, who may now be increasingly concerned about the safety of their vehicles and properties.
