Police Seize Imitation Firearm and Zombie Knife in Black Country Drug Raids
Fake Gun and Zombie Knife Seized in Police Raids

West Midlands Police have made significant seizures including an imitation firearm and a zombie knife during coordinated drug raids across the Black Country. Officers executed warrants at two separate properties in Sedgley and Coseley on Wednesday, January 28th, resulting in two arrests and the recovery of multiple prohibited items.

Coordinated Police Action Across Two Locations

The police operation began with simultaneous raids at addresses on The Croft in Sedgley and Cannon Park Way in Coseley. In Sedgley, officers successfully recovered a dangerous zombie knife alongside a quantity of Class B drugs during their search of the property. A man was subsequently arrested at this location on suspicion of possession with intent to supply both Class A and Class B drugs.

Forced Entry Reveals Imitation Firearm

At the Coseley address, officers encountered significant resistance and were compelled to cut down the door to gain entry to the property. Once inside, they discovered what initially appeared to be a realistic firearm, which subsequent examination confirmed to be an imitation weapon. Police also recovered suspected Class A drugs, a substantial amount of cash, and multiple mobile phones from the premises.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson commented on the discovery, stating: "On closer inspection of the house the officers then uncovered a gun. It looked like a realistic gun but checks revealed it was an imitation firearm." Following this discovery, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a firearm.

Ongoing Investigations and Wider Operation

Both arrested men remain in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the seizures. The police have confirmed that these arrests form part of their ongoing Operation Advance initiative, which targets organised crime and community safety issues across the region.

A force spokesperson elaborated on the wider operation, explaining: "Operations, enforcement activity, and community engagement events have all been planned to take place throughout the day with officers targeting organised and violent crime, road safety offences including off-road bikes and carrying out anti-social behaviour patrols."

The coordinated raids demonstrate West Midlands Police's continued commitment to tackling drug-related crime and removing dangerous weapons from communities across the Black Country region. The seizure of both an imitation firearm and a zombie knife highlights the range of threats officers are confronting during such operations.
