Police in the West Midlands have launched an urgent search for a driver who fled the scene after a car struck a pedestrian in Wolverhampton.
Appeal for witnesses after late-night collision
The incident occurred at 8.40pm on Saturday, December 20. According to West Midlands Police, a red Seat Ibiza was involved in a collision with another vehicle before mounting the pavement and hitting a woman.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital. Authorities have confirmed she remains in a stable condition while receiving treatment.
Driver fled on foot towards Upper Villiers Street
Following the crash, the driver of the Seat Ibiza abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot. Officers report the individual was last seen running along Upper Villiers Street in Wolverhampton.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Police have stated that enquiries are ongoing to trace the motorist responsible for the hit-and-run.
