A hit-and-run driver caused chaos in a Birmingham street after smashing into multiple parked cars and fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on Wheelwright Road in Erdington on Friday night (May 15) shortly before 11:30 PM.
Eyewitness Account
An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, described the scene: "I live nearby. I was walking my dog when a car sped past and collided with a bunch of parked cars. The suspect appeared to have fled the scene before police and an ambulance arrived." The witness added that locals were confused and upset by the "pure brutality and neglect" towards their property, noting that lives could have been at risk due to the negligent driver.
Drugs Found at Scene
The same witness claimed to have discovered drugs at the crash site and handed them over to police. The abandoned vehicle was left in the middle of the road, with significant damage visible.
Police Appeal
West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating. A spokesperson said: "Shortly before 11:30 PM on Friday night (May 15), we were called to a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles on Wheelwright Road, Tyburn. There were no reported injuries. Two men from one of the vehicles left the scene. We are making enquiries and anyone with any information should contact us on 101 quoting log number 6362 of 15 May."
