West Midlands Police have issued a new statement in the murder investigation of Zeshaan Shaukat, who was fatally stabbed outside his home on Ashville Avenue in Hodge Hill on August 25 at around 11.50pm. The 34-year-old died in hospital three days later.
Seven arrests made in targeted attack probe
As part of the ongoing investigation, seven people have been arrested so far. Police believe the attack was targeted. Two individuals remain in custody on suspicion of murder, while a third is being held on suspicion of assisting an offender. Four others have been released on bail while the investigation continues.
In a tribute, Zeshaan Shaukat's family said he was 'incredibly loved' and his loss has left a space 'that can never be filled'. The family said they were left 'with broken hearts' after the fatal stabbing.
Section 60 order in place across Alum Rock and Bordesley Green
A Section 60 order has been put in place, giving police powers to search individuals without the need for reasonable grounds. The order covers areas including Alum Rock and Bordesley Green and expires on Wednesday, September 2, at 3am.
Jenny Birch, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “It’s now been a week since the attack on Mr Shaukat, and our investigation has made good progress. We are still keen to hear from anyone with information about what happened, or footage from the area, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
