Police Update After Two Teenagers Found Dead at Holiday Park
Police have revealed that post-mortem examinations into the deaths of two teenagers discovered at a holiday park have returned inconclusive results. The tragic incident occurred at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington, where the young couple was found deceased last Wednesday.
Details of the Tragic Discovery
Ethan Slater, aged 17, and Cherish Bean, aged 15, were discovered inside a rental property at the holiday park on February 18. Medical professionals pronounced both teenagers dead at the scene, sparking an immediate and extensive police investigation.
Ongoing Investigation and Arrests
Despite the inconclusive post-mortem results, Humberside Police maintain that carbon monoxide poisoning remains their primary line of inquiry. The investigation has led to the arrest of three men aged 27, 42, and 33 in connection with the case.
All three individuals have been released on conditional bail as the investigation continues. Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson, the Senior Investigating Officer, emphasized the complexity of the case during a statement on Monday.
Police Statement and Family Support
DCI Robinson confirmed that further testing is required to determine the exact cause of death for both teenagers. He acknowledged the devastating impact on the families, stating that specialist officers continue to support them through this difficult time.
"This outcome comes at what is understandably an extremely difficult time for their families," Robinson said. "Our thoughts remain firmly with them as they continue to grieve the loss of their loved ones."
Continuing Investigation Efforts
The police investigation remains active and multi-faceted, with several key elements still underway:
- Specialist analysis of evidence collected at the scene
- Comprehensive searches of the premises where the teens were found
- Extensive review of information gathered in coordination with partner agencies
- Maintenance of the cordon at the holiday park site
Police continue to work closely with multiple agencies including the Health and Safety Executive, Humberside Fire & Rescue, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. DCI Robinson reassured the public that this update does not represent the conclusion of their enquiries, emphasizing that significant work continues to progress simultaneously across all aspects of the investigation.
"While the medical cause of death has not yet been formally confirmed, carbon monoxide poisoning remains a primary line of enquiry," Robinson stated. The investigation team is carefully reviewing and analyzing all evidence to establish the full circumstances surrounding these tragic deaths.
